WA Home Ed Kids Teach School Kids

Congratulations to the Environmental Studies class of the HBLN LEAP program at Champion Hall in Perth who presented a 45 minute workshop about the Western Swamp Tortoise to two separate classes of children at Challis Primary School.

The children were brilliant ambassadors for home education, and presented their information with confidence, clarity and personality.HBLN received a great deal of positive feedback from the teachers at Challis, who commented on how mature the kids were, how confident and self-assured they were, as well as on their ability to communicate and on their preparation and knowledge of their subject. It was a great learning experience for the group, and they should feel very proud about having undertaken a difficult challenge such as running a workshop for a large group of school kids, but also for having made a contribution toward raising awareness about one of Australia's endangered species and about caring for the environment. What a wonderful achievement!

HEA thanks Hayley, President of HBLN, for this item. http://www.hbln.org.au/
