A Word (or more) on Education “Methods”
A method is not a system. A method is unique and can be tailored to the needs of an individual and his/her learning style. A system is a process; it is an assemblage of things or parts forming a complex or unitary whole for a specific indented purpose. In the case of education, the 'schooling system' is particular to that which it serves, which is our established government system. This of course denies individual freedom, thought and expression. A method however is a particular technique, or way of doing something; in the case of education it is a way of learning. the schooling system employs the schooling method – one way which it imposes upon itself to be THE way. There are many methods of teaching and learning however that exist outside of the school system, and we are free to explore and experience those once we are "unplugged" from school.
Of course we never want to "Marry a Method" and we'll talk more about that later... let us get a mental grasp on this first... Read more
