AFF Youth
Adelaide Film Festival Youth is back! After having to postpone AFF Youth events due to the COVID-19 lockdown in South Australia last month, we are delighted to announce that AFF Youth has been rescheduled. AFF Youth has been reimagined as a hybrid event, offering an online screening program and face-to-face events for Creative Industries Day on Wednesday 15 September, supporting career pathways, and a Red Carpet Gala on Thursday 16 September.

The Adelaide Film Festival is excited to present AFF Youth Online: a celebration of screen curated for young people, streaming for a two-week season. Watch at school or home with your AFF Youth Online screening pass. Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to see the very best in world cinema made for and by young people. Creative Industries Day
The AFF Youth Creative Industries Day will be packed with value for aspiring screen creatives, students of media and more. With all sessions co-located at the central venue of Tandanya National Aboriginal Cultural Institute on Grenfell St, this day is a one-stop-shop for developing career pathways in the creative industries. The Expo, showcasing the tertiary sector and leading SA screen production companies, runs until 5pm, while Industry Sessions throughout the day will cover a variety of exciting fields and the chance to meet with leading screen creatives.

Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition
Film lovers from across South Australia are invited to view the 21 finalist films in the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition, and vote for their favourite, thanks to SA Power Networks.
AFF Youth received 41 submissions to the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition, with 21 selected as finalists. These short films will be celebrated and screened at a Red Carpet Gala event on Thursday 16 September at Palace Nova Eastend. An experienced panel of South Australian screen professionals will judge the films, with audiences able to watch the entries online and vote for the SA Power Networks People’s Choice Award. How to view films:
- Navigate to the AFF Youth Online platform (you'll need to create an account first)
- Find the Statewide Schools Filmmaking Competition Bundle and view the films
- Vote for your pick via the voting link in the film pages
Home educated students are eligible for school-priced tickets
