Commemorating ANZAC

Today I am watching the ANZAC Day march on TV, and reflecting with my now grown children on the years that we attended dawn services. One year we went to Canberra for the dawn service - a freezing but memorable and incredibly moving experience. Over the years, we have marked this important day in a number of ways, including:

  • Reading books that bring the experiences of our service men and women to life.

  • Making (and eating) Anzac biscuits

  • Attending local dawn services

  • Visiting Canberra an attending the dawn service and watching the march later in the day

  • Visiting the War Memorial

  • Having a Memorial Box sent to our house from the War Memorial

How do you observe Anzac Day? The ANZAC Portal has a range of resources to support and inspire you.
