Not only is the HEA Australia's peak body for home educator representation and a not-for-profit organisation, it also holds DGR Charity status with the ACNC. This is because one of the HEA's "objects" is:
"To establish and maintain a public fund which can receive gifts of money or property for the specific purpose of providing assistance to home educators in necessitous circumstances."
Currently, the HEA is raising funds for home educating families who have been affected by floods in 2022.
