Did you know that there are so many special days & celebrations that present learning opportunities that you could pretty much base your homeschool curriculum around them! Here's what's coming up in June:
National Reconciliation Week
27 May - 3 June
Reconciliation Australia’s theme for 2021, More than a word. Reconciliation takes action, urges the reconciliation movement towards braver and more impactful action.
Reconciliation is a journey for all Australians – as individuals, families, communities, organisations and importantly as a nation. At the heart of this journey are relationships between the broader Australian community and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Just like national parks help protect animals and habitats on land, marine protected areas help safeguard areas of the ocean and marine animals. Loads of free, digital resources for educators and parents, designed to connect, create, and celebrate the wonder and importance of our ocean to children and young adults.
Refugee Week is Australia’s peak annual activity to inform the public about refugees and celebrate positive contributions made by refugees to Australian society.

World Environment Day is for encouraging awareness and action for the protection of the environment. First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on environmental issues emerging from marine pollution, human overpopulation, and global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime.
