Do you have a home ed grad in your family this year? HEAQ has been working with a number of Universities in QLD to clarify entry pathways for home educated students. Here is one of the identified pathways: The Accelerated Entry Pathway Program (AEPP) at USQ.
The Accelerated Entry Pathway Program (AEPP) is an intensive (accelerated) program offered on-campus over Semester 3. It focuses on developing academic skills before a degree is undertaken, provides a pathway to a wide-range of undergraduate degrees, and supports the transition from school to university.
There are two residential school blocks that students are required to attend in December and January, and free accommodation is available for students from outer regional and remote areas at the Toowoomba campus. There is an accommodation bursary and travel subsidy available to offset costs of attending the residential schools.
There is still time to apply with applications closing the 22nd November.
The application process involves filling in a form and submitting a current report card, however USQ have confirmed they will accept a written parent assessment for home educated students. Students who are interested in taking advantage of the accommodation and travel subsidy need to also provide a short statement to that effect.
